Met on Route 2 (level 14) | September 30th, 2018 Shoto didn't pick this Pokemon. This Pokemon decided to challenge Polar while they were heading down Route 2 and when the fight was over? Decided that he was going to tag along. He doesn't take no for an answer and seems content to just play the boss role--when he's got the energy for it--giving Shoto looks that very clearly read 'Are you serious?' whenever he does something even the slightest bit questionable. (It's not his fault he's still getting use to this world, mutt.)
Naming him for a certain teacher from home because the resemblances are uncanny, Shoto is going to let him stick around for now. If nothing else it's helping him train Polar and Blaze. (And it does help having a Dark type around...)
While he definitely wasn't an intended addition, Mr. A has proven to be a rather valuable member of the team and a loyal companion. Like Current and the Vulpix duo, he doesn't need verbal commands to know what Shoto wants him to do and can follow slight gestures from the young man and expressions with ease. He's a very capable battler and while he can be somewhat lazy at times, the Poochyena--sorry, Mightyena, will go toe to toe with any wild Pokemon that dares to try and get the jump on them. He's extremely protective of a lot of the younger Pokemon (as much as he tries to hide it) and can often be found watching over Deku the Bulbasaur especially whenever the little Grass type is training with the other Pokemon.
